Lunch Pail Ventures is an organization dedicated to supporting the Virginia Tech professional business community through events and investments. We host in-person and online events that foster connections within Hokie Nation, from industry expert panels and networking happy hours to celebrations honoring the fastest-growing Hokie-led businesses. On the investment side, we provide accredited investors with the opportunity to invest alongside venture capital firms in Hokie-affiliated companies.

We are looking for a Virginia Tech student to join our investment team this summer as an Investment Analyst Intern. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in venture capital, work with startup founders, and see firsthand how investment decisions are made.

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct market research and competitive analysis on emerging startup sector
• Organize and analyze financial data and company reports
• Assist with portfolio management, gathering updates from portfolio companies
• Help prepare investment memos, reports, and investor updates
• Work with tools like AngelList, PitchBook, HubSpot, and Google Suite
• Identify and contact potential investors to expand membership base
• Participate in weekly investment meetings and contribute insights

Who You Are:

• A Virginia Tech student (sophomore or freshman) in the Pamplin College of Business
• Passionate about venture capital, startups, and investment strategy
• Strong in data analysis, market research, and financial modeling
• A great communicator with strong written and verbal skills
• Proficient in Google Sheets, Canva, and presentation tools
• A self-starter who is proactive, detail-oriented, and organized
• Able to juggle multiple projects and work independently

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be a Virginia Tech student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, BIT, or a related field
• Available for 10-15 hours per week in a remote externship setting
• Compensation: $15.00 per hour
