Overview

The Lunch Pail Ventures Community (LPVC) is a global network created by Virginia Tech alumni-entrepreneurs. Since our inception in 2021, our goal has remained the same: to provide entrepreneurial resources to alumni, former students, and friends of Blacksburg in an open and welcoming community.

How It Started

In 2021, we, a group of passionate Virginia Tech alumni and founders, created Lunch Pail Ventures to address the lack of resources for alumni eager to pursue entrepreneurship. Having launched and grown our own businesses, we aim to give back by supporting the next generation of Hokie entrepreneurs. Drawing from our own experiences, we established Lunch Pail Ventures to provide guidance and resources to fellow alumni, helping them achieve their fullest potential in their entrepreneurial pursuits.

Behind the Name

In 2005, Bud Foster, Virginia Tech’s co-defensive coordinator, adopted the “Lunch Pail” as a symbol of hard work and commitment, propelling the team to 25 successful seasons in college football. Today, the Lunch Pail legacy lives on, representing these values in entrepreneurship.

The Lunch Pail Venture Community is a proud partner and financial supporter of Bud Foster’s Lunch Pail Defense Foundation, which funds academic scholarships for eligible high school students from the New River Valley area and supports VT Advantage, helping Virginia Tech students in financial need.
